Getting Started

You can set up FishCast® either directly on your Simrad® display or online using a web browser. Both options will give you access to the same FishCast data.

Important notice: FishCast® is currently only compatible with NSS® 4, NSX®, NSX® ULTRAWIDE, and NSO® 4 displays with the NEON™ 2.3 software update installed (US only).

Step 1: Subscribe to FishCast®

On Your Simrad® Display

  1. Make sure your Simrad® display is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or hotspot) during setup.
  2. Ensure your display is updated to software version 2.3 or later.
  3. Open the C-MAP® X-Chart Manager app from the home screen.
  4. Log in with your existing account or create a new one.
  5. Tap My Charts → Buy Now to open XSTORE.
  6. On the XSTORE main page:
  • Select FishCast
  • Choose your inlet location
  • Complete the checkout process

  1. Visit the C-MAP XSTORE to choose your inlet location and complete the checkout process.

Step 2: Download FishCast to Your Display

On Your Simrad® Display

  1. Ensure your display is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or hotspot) during the download.
  2. Open the X-Chart Manager app from the home screen.
  3. Log in using the account associated with your FishCast subscription.
  4. Navigate to the Downloads tab.
  5. Select your purchased FishCast inlet → tap Download.
  6. Wait for the download to complete before opening the Chart app.

Step 3: Enable and Use FishCast

On Your Simrad® Display

  1. Open the Chart app from the home screen.
  2. Go to the Overlays menu.
  3. Enable FishCast by checking the box, or access the FishCast menu for additional settings and options.

How to View FishCast on Your Desktop Computer

With an active FishCast subscription, you can access FishCast on both your compatible Simrad chartplotter and your desktop computer using the X-Chart Manager application.

  1. Download and install X-Chart Manager
  2. Sign in with your C-MAP account
    • Open X-Chart Manager and sign in using the C-MAP account associated with your FishCast® subscription.
  3. Open Chart Manager and locate FishCast
    • After signing in:​
      • Click the settings (menu) icon at the top right
      • Scroll to the Chart Hub section
      • Locate FishCast and click the download icon associated with your FishCast subscription​
  4. Enable FishCast on the chart
    • To display FishCast forecast layers:
      • Click Overlay / Layers in the top panel on the right side
      • Locate FishCast
      • Toggle Show on Chart to ON
    • FishCast forecast layers will now appear on the map.​
  5. Select forecast layers and view fishing conditions
    • You can now view the same FishCast powered by ROFFS® data on your desktop that you see on your chartplotter. Simply select the inlet and forecast layers you want to view.
  6. Keep your FishCast data updated
    • FishCast forecasts update regularly. To ensure you are viewing the latest data:
      • Return to Chart Hub → FishCast
      • Click Update if new forecast data is available
      • Enable the overlay again if needed

Pro tip: The X-Chart Manager desktop web viewer is ideal for planning your trip before leaving the dock, allowing you to review forecasts up to three days in advance while off the boat.
